As im sure you know, if a slip up occurs on the internet everyone’s going to know about it, and soon. It seems Google has accidentally launched promotional material for its new browser. However being Google they have admitted to the early launch and are continuing to host the content, even linking to it.
As far back as 2004 there has been speculation of a browser in the works by Google, and today it has been confirmed.
The comic strip promoting the new browser is presented in a 42 page pdf. It has also been put up as images (better quality than pdf) at the address here.
The comic talks of how browsers were created at a different time when users weren’t engaging in the sort of tasks they are now, and thus aren’t suited for current environment. The new browser has been built from the ground up for the new generation of websites.
It will be interesting to see who loses ground to Google, cause something’s got to give with a new player entering the market, especially when it’s Google. Expect the new browser to be launched within the day at this address: https://www.google.com/chrome/. No promises though!
